Unit Price
Unit Price is required by EU law to be displayed on all banners. Here is the extract of the law:
"For most food, hygiene, and maintenance products prepackaged (list available on Legifrance), the customer must be informed of the unit price (price per kilogram, liter, etc.) and the net quantity delivered, in addition to the selling price. (source)."
Read below to learn more about what it is and how you can make it visible in your ads.
What is Unit Price?
The Unit Price is a value that shows how much a product costs per a specific unit of measurement, helping customers compare prices across different sizes or quantities of the same or similar products. This price is typically displayed per standard units like per kilogram (kg), per liter (L), per 100 grams (g), per 100 milliliters (ml), or another relevant measure.
For example, let's say you’re selling a 150 ml bottle of perfume. The unit price lets you show customers how much the perfume costs per 100 ml, making it easier to compare it with other perfumes that might come in different bottle sizes (e.g., 50 ml, 200 ml).
How is Unit Price Calculated?
Unit Price = Total Price × 100 / Quantity in kg or liters.
For example:
Sell Price | 35 EUR |
Retail Price | 50 EUR |
Quantity | 30 ml |
Unit price measure | 100 ml |
Unit Price: (35*100)/30= 116 EUR
